Serj Tankian will follow US Sec. Clinton’s advice and will visit Tsitsernakaberd as a “human being”

Famous Armenian-American singer–songwriter and composer Serj Tankian who is currently in Armenia and will have a concert here says he will definitely pay a visit to Tsitsernakaberd – the hilltop memorial complex dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide orchestrated in the breaking days of the Ottoman Empire in 1915.

In a press conference today in Yerevan Mr Tankian was asked whether he will visit the Genocide memorial, to which he answered half seriously and half jokingly: “US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton advised me to visit Tsitsernakaberd not as a musician but rather a human being.”

Earlier during her visit to Armenia US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton paid an unofficial visit to the Genocide memorial.

Mr Tankian also said that while visiting the Tsitsernakaberd he would be accompanied by two journalists of the famous German magazine Rolling Stone.

Serj Tankian is an Armenian-American singer–songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, poet, and a political activist. He is best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, keyboardist, and occasionally live rhythm guitarist of the Grammy Award-winning rock band, System of a Down.
