Famous Armenian actor Vladimir Msryan passes away

People's artist of Armenia Vladimir Msryan has passed away at the age of 72 after a long struggle against leukemia.

Mr Msryan was also a laureate of State Prize, holder of Movses Khorenatsi state medal and member of Erevan Elders Council.

Yet in the Soviet era he was recognized by the Italian press as the "best Paganini of all the times and peoples" for his main role in Nicolo Paganini shot 27 years ago.

Mr Msryan was expected to have some new roles in films such as Old Gods, Symphony of Silence, etc.

He was best known for his roles played in the theatre, particularly in Yerevan Drama Theatre where he used to play since 1970, featuring characters such as Herostrat, Hamlet, Julius Caesar, etc.
