Azerbaijan to support Serbian resolution on Kosovo

Azerbaijan supports the position of Belgrade, and a large number of Islamic countries will vote for the Serbian resolution on Kosovo in the UN General Assembly, said Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Serbia Eldar Hasanov, reports Radio Srbija.

According to him, Azerbaijan will support Serbia's stance within the framework of the UN and other international organizations, as well as in the International Court of Justice.

"We believe the position of Serbia, of unilateral proclamation of Kosovo's independence being illegitimate and in discord with the international law, is absolutely correct, Hasanov told DANAS Daily in Belgrade.

He also said that there are parallels between the cases of Kosovo and Nagorno-Karabakh, since "both Serbia and Azerbaijan have their territorial integrity and sovereignty violated."
