Congo plane crash kills 19 Including 2 kids

A passenger plane crashed in the western Democratic Republic of Congo leaving 19 dead while only one passenger survived the crash.

The plane that was operated by the local airline based in Kinshasa, Filair crashed when it was trying to land and its fuel ended as said by the deputy governor of Bandundu.

The plane was flying from central Congo to Bandundu. The owner of the company was piloting the plane and was also among the 19 who were killed.

After breaking apart into two pieces, the plane's wreckage fell upon a house and killed two kids who were inside it.

The aircraft that crashed, Let-410 normally carries 19-20 passengers.

Given the fact that Congo has one of the worst air safety records in the world as reported by BBC, the plane crash did not come up as a surprise.

Filair Airlines is marked on the list of those airlines that are not allowed to fly into Europe.
