On the day of Karabakh's independence Russian President visits Azerbaijan

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan September 2-3, according to the Kremlin press service.
The main subject of this visit is signing an agreement on state border and an agreement on the rational use of water resources of the Samur River, on the threshold of the visit the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the Azerbaijani media outlets.

"Undoubtedly, economic cooperation as the foundation of our partnership is very important in all summits, in any negotiation, despite the crisis, which, of course, affected our trade and economic ties. Now the situation has been substantially corrected and the trade turnover climbed. There are also good investment projects that are being successfully implemented in industry and transport, and the banking sectors. I am confident that the presidents will hold a general review of on the state of affairs in this area and in case of necessity will give political impetus to those or other areas of our cooperation," Lavrov had said.

Earlier Dmitry Medvedev paid a landmark state visit to Armenia from August 19-21. Five major documents were signed during this visit of which two referred to the construction of a new nuclear power plant and extension of the duration of the deployment of the Russian military base in Armenia.
