We are having the next déjà vu due to foreign ministry's non-perspective policy: Aram Sargsyan

It is due to the non-perspective and non-offensive policy of Armenia's foreign ministry that we are having the next-in-turn déjà vu, head of the Democratic Party of Armenia, Aram G. Sargsyan, told a press conference today, as he referred to the forthcoming resolution over the Nagorno Karabakh to be voted on at the UN General Assembly later this month reportedly initiated by Azerbaijan.

"That is to say that we are trying to discuss what will happen if the Azerbaijani get that resolution adopted in the UN," said he.

Mr Sargsyan is dissatisfied with the fact that only statements are made, while what needs to be done, is to send a diplomatic note to the UN, present the reality and stress that Azerbaijan distorts it. According to him, Armenia must itself take initiatives in the international bodies and must itself initiate such resolutions.

"The issue remains not responded as in no way does the foreign ministry react to these questions. It could at least once clearly answer and explain why it does not take any such initiatives; maybe we do not understand much. And in this case we would not speak about it anymore," said Mr Sargsyan.

According to him this resolution will have no impact on the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh, because the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, currently engaged in the settlement of this issue, have their clear approach to the resolution of the NK conflict.

In his opinion, it is due to this reason the representative of the OSCE MG Co-Chair states will not vote in favor of this resolution.
