Short circuit halts Underground operation in Yerevan

A short circuit in an electrical shield in the Marshal Baghramyan station of the Yerevan Metro halted the traffic in the Underground this morning.

Nikolay Grigoryan, Head of the Information Service at Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations told Tert.am that the ministry sent firefighters and a rescue team to the scene immediately after it received the alarm call at 10:35.

Fortunately, there as no need for the firefighters' intervention as the circuit did not cause a serious fire.

Mr Grigoryan also said that the Underground has already resumed operation.
