Constitutional amendments lead to the recognition of Armenian Genocide, says Turkish MP

Turkish opposition continues to harshly criticize the ruling authorities over the September 12 referendum that will introduce amendments to the Constitution.

Oktay Vural, an MP from the Nationalistic Movement, has said that the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attempts to take control over the judiciary through those amendments.

At the same time, he said that the upcoming constitutional amendments will contribute to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks in the waning days of the Ottoman Empire.

"I don't want to live in a Turkey like this. Those constitutional amendments recognize the Armenian Genocide and ensure the withdrawal of our troops from the Cyprus," said Vural.
