And the Oscar goes to …

A film by Russian director Aleksei Uchitel has been presented for Oscar, according to k2kapital.com.

Of all the other Russian films the jury of Oscar's Russian board has nominated Uchitel's The Edge.

The jure includes Nikita Mikhalkov's, Vladimir Naumov, Andrey Konchalovski and others.

The main events take place in a remote village called Krai in 1945. The main hero is a car man who fought in the war and now meets the daughter of a killed German engineer as he tries to start his life anew.

The cast includes such personalities as Vladimir Mashkov, Anjorka Strechel, Sergey Garmash, Armenen Chigarkhanyan and others.
Winners of the 83rd Oscar prize will be known on 27 February 2011.
