Foreign Minister and NATO envoy highlight importance of cooperation

Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met on September 14 with NATO’s Secretary General’s Special Envoy to the Caucasus and Central Asia and Ambassador Robert Simons.

Welcoming his guest Mr Nalbandyan mentioned that Armenia pays importance to the mutually-beneficial partnership forged with NATO and intends to strengthen it with a special focus on the implementation of the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan.

Also Mr Nalbandyan said that Armenia will continue cooperation with NATO in the framework of Euro Atlantic Partnership Council, as well as in such spheres as peacekeeping, fight against terrorism, disaster relief efforts, etc.

Mr Robert Simons in turn said the alliance highly appreciates its partnership with Armenia and expressed hope that Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan is good opportunity to keep cooperation with Armenia at a descent level.

The parties also spoke about NATO-led disaster relief exercise held in Armenia as a good example of efficient cooperation between Armenia and NATO.
