No expectations from September 17 rally: Jirayr Sefilyan

Member of Sardarapat movement, Jirayr Sefilyan does not expect anything from the September 17 rally to be held by the opposition movement Armenian National Congress or HAK.

The HAK said earlier that it has 10 surprises to unveil at that rally.

"I do not have any expectation from that rally, as I see what a wrong path they are walking down," said he, adding that early elections or elections in general will not solve any problem.

"With such an oppressor system no change will be made through elections to the benefit of the people. We urge to put end to such a tactic, as the people are being mislead. They [HAK] should come out of the party circles, from the marsh of the political field and seek solutions outside of this marsh."

According to him, after the next elections President Serzh Sargsyan will form such a parliament which will have 7-8 MPs from the HAK, and some 7-8 MPs from Heritage Party.

"What will be changed in our country? Today we have opposition MPs in the parliament too. This isn't a parliament, this isn't a state, and this isn't a state system. If the chairman of your parliament is a person like Hovik Abrahamyan, then there is nothing to say about that parliament. By whose rules are you trying to play, Serzh Sargsyan or Hovik Abrahamyan, or other nicknamed people?" said Mr Sefilyan.
