Future belongs to Iran: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

The future belongs to Iran, the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in New York where he attends the 65th session of the UN General Assembly.

Mr. Ahmadinejad proposed to US to reconcile itself with the reality that Iran is playing an important role in the world.

However, unlike the US, Iran has not attempted to be predominant over other countries, said he.

In an interview with the Associated Press he also said that the Iranian authorities do not attempt to build a nuclear weapon.

At the same time he said that no sanction can make Iran change its policy.

The US and its western allies accuse Tehran is enriching uranium to build a nuclear bomb. Iran says it is meant for peaceful purposes.
