Honda instead of Russia-made cars for 'best teacher' and 'best principal'

At a session held today Armenia's Government adopted a decision to hold on 5 October a festive event and prize-awarding ceremony in the Opera House on the occasion of 5th is the World Teachers Day.

Armenia's Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan suggested the Government to include in that event also teachers from Diaspora. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, in response, suggested that Mrs. Hakobyan prepare an offer and submit it to the Government for consideration.

Armen Ashotyan, Armenia's Minister of Education and Science asked the Government to allot funds for the ministry to prepare prizes for the winners of the "best teacher" and the "best principal" nominations this year.

Mr Ashotyan said that 3,650,000 drams are expected to be allotted for each car which means that instead of Soviet-made cars it will be possible to buy cheap but foreign-made ones for this year's winners, say "Honda" instead of "Zhiguli" - Russia-made cars.

Prime Minister said that the issue would be discussed separately.
