Armenia is getting poorer day by day: Ahmet Davutoglu

Armenia is getting poorer on a daily basis, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said in a speech at Harvard Kennedy School in US, reports Turkish news agency Cihan.

Mr Davutoglu has said that Ankara wants to work with its neighbors, as well as to restore relations with Armenia much in the same way as it was in case of Syria.

He has also said that compared to the current situation in Armenian-Turkish relations now, the Turkish-Syrian relations used to be worse during the Cold War.

Further Mr Davutoglu highlighted the importance of normalization of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations to have a peaceful and secure Caucasus.

"All must show respect towards each other. The relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan must also be normalized. No full cooperation will be possible otherwise," he was quoted as saying.

Interestingly, Mr Davutoglu has also mentioned that one of his dreams is to be able to take a drive from Yerevan to Kars and then to Baku.

"If Armenia wants to have peace in the region, it must settle accounts with Azerbaijan; it must withdraw from the 20 per cent of Azerbaijan's territories."
