Lusakert Pedigree Poultry Plant to raise egg prices

Lusakert Pedigree Poultry Plant LLC (LPPP) is planning to raise the prices for hen's eggs in the near future, acting officer to the LPPP Director Manase Epremyan told a news conference today.

According to him, currently the factory price per egg is 36 drams which covers the production costs only, while to cover all the costs en egg should be sold at 42 dram.

Mr Epremyan said that the decision to review the price is conditioned by a fifty per cent increase in fodder prices in the world market.

He did not elaborate when exactly the new prices will come into use, explaining that it is the management to decide how much the prices will be increased.

The company will hold a discussion over the issue on September 30.
