Co-founder of Dilmah tea ready to sponsor an orphanage in Armenia

As the co-founder and proprietor of MJF Group – a tea giant company in Sri Lanka that produces Dilmah – Meril Fernando is doing much when it comes to charity.

In a press conference today in Yerevan Mr Fernando said he has established a charity foundation that helps the country’s impoverished population.

“I have an obligation in front of the poor in my country,” said he, adding that the charity foundation does a lot in the spheres of education, healthcare and provision of shelter to those in need.

Meril Fernando also said that he wants to sponsor an orphanage here in Armenia.

“My experience shows that whatever I give [for charity], is having a double return,” said Mr Fernando.
