Dilmah and Sovrano to open tearooms in Yerevan (video)

Sovrano LLC and MJF Group, producer of the famous Sri Lankan tea Dilmah, are planning to jointly open tearooms and tea-boutiques in Yerevan.

Sovrano LLC is Dilmah's exclusive representative in Armenia.

In a press conference on Friday founder and proprietor of MJF Group Meril Fernando said the companies have reached a preliminary agreement on the initiative.

"I have had a few preliminary meetings related to the opening of the tearooms," said he, adding that they will be opened next year, should there be necessary investments.

Part of the cooperation will be distilling of cold tea in Armenia. The product is planned to be exported to CIS countries in the future.

Mr Fernando also said that MJF Group is going to send the necessary concentrate which will be distilled and offered to consumers as soon as it becomes a ready-made product.

Meril Fernando also said that it is difficult to speak about the scale of investments at this moment, adding he does not think the they will be much. MJF Groups, however, is ready to make that investment.

"We are ready to make that investment," he said.

MJF Group and Sovrano have been cooperating for 10 years now.
