Armenian artist's works will be exhibited in Louvre despite Moscow's ban

Russian authorities have allowed Russian-Armenian artist Avdyei Ter-Ohanian’s “Radical Abstractionism” series to be exhibited in Louvre Museum in Paris to be held from October 14 to January 15.

Citing the museum’s press service Agence France Presse reports that the management of the museum, learning that Russian authorities have decided not to allow Mr Ter-Ohanian’s works to be shown in that exhibit, they started to negotiate with the Russian side.

The museum’s press office also said that even though the talks are still underway, it can already been said that the works of all Armenian artists, who have submitted for participation, will be exhibited in Louvre.

Earlier Russian authorities had banned Ter-Ohanian’s “Radical Abstractionism” from that exhibit.

“They [the works] call for usurpation of the Russian constitutional rule, as well as incite inter-religious hatred and enmity,” Russia’s authorities had explained.
