Aram Tigran Conservatoire to open in Turkey

A conservatoire named after Turkish-Armenian song-writer Aram Tigran will open at the Culture and Tourism Department of the Municipality of Diyarbakir (Tigranakert).

According to Turkish news agency ANF it will open on November 1. The students will be taught music, film art, theatrical work, folk dances, history of art, as well as Kurdish language.

Aram Tigran, known as one of the best performers of Kurdish folk music and is an authority in Diyarbakir, passed away in 2009 in Athens, Greece.
