Froch had protested against the other bout in that tournament, between Americans Andre Ward and Andre Tirrel, being sanctioned for that world crown.

The series has resurrected Glen Johnson as the second replacement for this made-for-TV tournament.

Scheduling Johnson to fight the first substitute, Allan Green, who has already been defeated, is unlikely to affect the top-four placings.
