Zharangutyun may back HAK in the future

Zharangutyun (Heritage) Party has not said it will not back local Armenian opposition movement the Armenian National Congress (HAK), founder and chairman of Zharangutyun Party Raffi Hovhanissian told a press conference.

When reminded that that statement has been made by Armen Martirosyan, an MP affiliated with Zharangutyun, Mr Hovhanissian said: "There has never been such claim on behalf of Zharangutyun. One of our MPs has expressed his personal view; he has that right."

Further he said that it is early to speak about elections, about their format and candidates. Instead, in his words, it is necessary to wait for a couple of months until things on the political field will be what he called "clarified."

"We are keeping our communications open; we are holding meetings with all, including the Congress [meaning the HAK], parliamentary and extra-parliamentary parties, NGOs. We don't have any such complex," he added.
