Minsk Group co-chairs promised to conduct assessment mission in Armenian territories under Azerbaijani rule

In a meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan late on Wednesday the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairpersons reaffirmed the pledge that in the next stage of the Field Assessment Mission in the territories around Nagorno Karabakh the mission will also be conducted in Armenian territories currently under Azerbaijani rule.

Before meeting with Sargsyan the Co-chairs Igor Popov of Russia, Robert Bradtke of US, Bernard Fassier France as well as Andzey Kasprzyk, the Personal Representative of the Chairman-in-Office had met with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan.

Mr Sargsyan emphasized the importance of objectivity in the OSCE’s final report after he was briefed on the details of the mission and its objectives.

Azerbaijani President had during an earlier meeting with the OSCE co-chairs in Nakhichevan expressed similar hopes, saying he was hopeful that the Field Assessment Mission would prepare an unbiased report on the results of their monitoring and describe all facts registered in the territories.
