Authorities deceive themselves by presenting the 'fact finding mission' as a 'field assessment mission:' Stepan Safaryan

By constantly saying that the mission to be conducted by the OSCE Minsk Group in the territories surrounding Nagorno Karabakh is not a "fact finding mission" but rather a "field assessment mission," Armenia's authorities attempt to deceive not only us but also themselves, head of Zharangutyun (Heritage) Party's parliamentary faction Stepan Safaryan told a press conference today.

"In fact all we understand that both in case of fact finding mission and field assessment mission that group is in those territories to assess the situation and prepare a report on it," said Mr Safaryan.

Addressing the parliament Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan reiterated on Wednesday that the mission of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have initiated it not a fact finding but rather a field assessment one.

The Field Assessment Mission started on October 4 and will last till October 13. In the framework of this mission the OSCE co-chairs have already visited Azerbaijan and Armenia and are currently in Stepanakert - the capital of Nagorno Karabakh.
