Mr Polukhov's cynicism is the result of impunity: Tigran Balayan

It is obvious that Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is not able to deny the fact that what Baku is doing is typical of terrorists, Spokesperson for Armenia's Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan said, asked by Henaran.am to comment about Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Elhan Polukhov's statement about the controversial death of Manvel Saribekyan - an Armenian captive who reportedly committed suicide in his cell in an Azerbaijani prison on Tuesday.

"It is obvious that Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is not able to deny the fact that what Baku is doing is typical of terrorists," said Mr Balayan.

According to Mr Balayan, Polukhov's desperate attempts to justify Manvel Saribekyan's killing are the result of the fact that the organizers of the massacres of peaceful civilians in Sumgait, Baku, Kirovabad, as well as in other territories of Artsakh and Azerbaijan, have not yet been held accountable.

Even more, in his words, those arrested and sentenced were released and glorified as heroes shortly after the independence of Azerbaijan.

"Encouraged by that impunity Azerbaijani authorities went farther to start ethnic cleansing, [and] unleashed a massive aggression against Armenia and Artsakh, by using the rebels of major international terroristic networks," said Mr Balayan.

Today too Azerbaijani remains unpunished and therefore continues to organize and implement new and new crimes, he added.
