Turkey won't provide Azerbaijan with military support in a fresh war: Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan

There are three most important factors a country should consider before starting a war, Major General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos) told a press conference today.

Saying that he does not consider fresh Armenian-Azerbaijani war probable, Mr Te-Tadevosyan mentioned that Azerbaijan should first of all take into account the problems within the Azerbaijani society.

"Azerbaijani president has problems with the local national minorities. We don't have only enemies there," he underlined, adding that the Azerbaijani society isn't ready for the resumption of the Armenian-Azerbaijani war.

The second factor is related to power. Here, according to him, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is having problems.

The third factor for the Azerbaijani leadership to consider is that the Azerbaijani army is a multi-national one, which negatively affects the army's fighting capabilities.

According to Commandos, an army with no or poor fighting capabilities, cannot ensure victory, no matter what weapons it has in its arsenal.

Further Mr Ter-Tadevosyan said that in his opinion Turkey would not provide Baku with military support, should it resume the war.
