Retro cars showcased on the occasion of Yerevan's anniversary

Square of France near the Opera House hosted a showcase of retro cars in the framework of Yerevan's 2792nd anniversary.

The owners of the old but good-looking cars were standing confidently by them, following the visitors who were looking at the cars with great interest and apparent admiration.

Tert.am's correspondent has spoken to the owner of a ZIM-12 who remembered quite interesting stories related to the car.
"It was made in 1957 and is with me since 1967, she is my car," said Misha Khachatryan. "It is 43 years since she is mine, can you imagine, it's a whole life?"

Mr Khachatryan has no intentions to sell what he calls "his million." But he would jocularly respond to young men's questions whether he sells it or not.

"I am selling it for $70,000 USD, if you give that sum, I will give it to you," he would say from time to time.

Asked whether or not there have been any famous personalities to have seated in his car, Mr Khachatryan said: "There have been a lot, I cannot remember."

But there are other youth-related crazy episodes that he remembers quite well.

"We have abducted 5-6 girls for my friends [there used to be a tradition of abduction girls for marriage in Armenia; now it has preserved in some remote villages only]," said he adding, that the car has for 50-60 times been invited to wedding parties to be used as a bride's car.
