Azerbaijani protest against Dashnak officials' visit to Baku

The visit of representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D) to Baku has stirred public disorder in the city.

Head of the ARF-D Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Kiro Manoyan and ARF-D member Mario Nalbandyan are paying a visit to Baku to attend a session of the Socialist International's regional committee for the CIS, Caucasus and Black Sea states on 11-12 October.

According to Azerbaijani news website 1news.az Members of the Organization for Karabakh's Liberation are picketing in front of the building of Baku's Business Centre where the IS session is taking place.

Some of the picketers have been arrested.

The IS session is attended by social-democratic and socialist parties from region and Europe. The agenda includes issues related to regional conflicts, the development of the regional states, as well as the opportunities for the development of democracy.
