Armenia will cooperate with US over a large-scale scam in insurance system, says Foreign Ministry

Armenia’s Foreign Ministry has expressed regret over the involvement of Armenian citizens in a large-scale scam in the US healthcare insurance, causing some $35m USD to the US state.

It has also said that the relevant Armenian bodies will be ready to cooperate with their US colleagues to help the investigation.

“It can only be regretted that according to the reports published over the fraud perpetrated in the American insurance system are included also Armenian citizens,” Spokesperson for Armenia’s Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan has said, asked by local Armenian news agency Armenpress to comment on the incident.

“Naturally, Armenia’s relevant bodies, if need be, will be ready to cooperate with their American counterparts to support the investigation,” Mr Balayan has said.
