Orange Innovation Prize for Armenian students

Orange Armenia creates an Orange Innovation Prize for Armenian students, Bruno Duthoit (L), Orange Armenia CEO and Yves Tyrode (R), France Telecom Executive Vice President in charge of the Technocentre, told a press conference in Yerevan.

The Orange innovation prize will be given to one Armenian student of Yerevan State University or State Engineering University of Armenia every year. The student will rewarded a maximum of 6 months remunerated internship in Orange Labs. The prize will be granted on the basis of a competition of innovative ideas and projects in telecommunication field submitted to Orange Armenia.

During his visit in Armenia, Yves Tyrode met the rectors of the two largest Armenian Universities education specialists for telecommunication, and presented them the scope of Orange Labs, as well as perspectives and opportunities for Armenian students of executing internships at Orange Labs.

"Armenia is a very special country for the France Telecom Group. In a very short period Orange Armenia has done an amazing work in innovation and has managed to launch many innovative products and services, which even do not exist in many developed European markets. I am surprised to see how much Armenians are eager for innovation and new technology. Armenia is also a country having a great potential for generating new ideas, and we are here to help these ideas to become a reality," said Yves Tyrode.

Bruno Duthoit, Orange Armenia CEO, in turn, said taht Orange Armenia is a "part of a big international Group and it allows us to benefit from the most recent world innovations."

"We are delighted for this close cooperation and for the constant support of the Technocentre. Our innovative products and services such as HD voice, Flybox, broadband internet up to 14.4 Mbps and others have been launched in close cooperation with the Technocentre. We are also delighted to be the intermediate for Armenian talented students aspiring to develop their competences with the help of Orange Labs," said Bruno Duthoit.

An Orange Expo presenting a selection of Technocentre key products will be held in Orange Flagship store from October 15th to 17th that will be available to wide public.
