Parliament shooting in Chechnya 'leaves several dead'

Several people have been killed in a shooting in the Chechen Republic parliament building, it has been reported.

The information has come from the Interfax news agency, which is quoting a security source.

The violence has apparently erupted at the speaker's office in the building and riot police are at the scene. The source has not elaborated as to the reason and circumstances of the incident.

There are no official reports about the incident so far.

According to RIA Novosti, what happened near the Chechnian Parliament, was a terrorist act. Particularly, it says that a self-bomber terrorist has exploded himself.

Currently the shooting has stopped and the parliament building is cordoned by the law-enforcement bodies.
