Karabakh conflict must be solved through dialogue and peaceful: Ban Ki-moon

The Nagorno Karabakh conflict must be resolved through dialogues and peacefully, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has said a solemn event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of European Convention on Human Rights held at the Council of Europe.

According to the Azerbaijani news agency APA UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon made the statement held press conference with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland.

Asked about the UN 4 resolutions over the Nagorno Karabakh Ban Ki-moon has reportedly noted that it was necessary to solve Nagorno Karabakh conflict peacefully and through dialogues.

“There are a lot of conflicts in the world and these conflicts, as well as Nagorno Karabakh conflict must be solved through dialogues and in a peaceful way. In-parallel, the development of the dialogue between Turkey and Armenia is encouraging us. OSCE Minsk Group carries out its mediation mission in the regulation process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and UN is ready to contribute to the peaceful solution to this conflict.”
