No great expectations from upcoming Sargsyan-Aliyev-Medvedev meeting, says Ervand Bozoyan

Armenian politologist Ervand Bozoyan has no great expectations from tomorrow’s trilateral meeting of Armenia, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents.

“To tell you the truth I don’t have great expectations from tomorrow’s meeting. That meeting will be followed by the OSCE summit aimed at keeping the parties in a concrete format so that there will be no excesses in Astana,” Mr Bozoyan told a press conference today.

Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev are due to hold talks a meeting in Astrakhan, Russia, on Wednesday initiated by their Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

Further he said he doesn’t expect any agreement to be signed after tomorrow’s meeting.

“Russia will try to offer the sides such a resolution that will include a point about the non-use of force, which the Azerbaijani side rejects naturally,” said he.

Mr Bozoyan also said that Russia has recently made its diplomacy more active over the Nagorno Karabakh issue which boils down to the fact that it tries to play a more active role among the mediator involved in Karabakh’s settlement process.
