Anti-Armenianism is chronic in Azerbaijan and Turkey, says Gagik Harutyunyan

There is a very aggressive atmosphere in Turkish and Azerbaijani societies against Armenians today, Director of Noravanq Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan said at a press conference today.

"Today neo-Osmanism, neo-Panturkism and neo-Islamism have strongly developed there. A synthesis of these three ideologies has emerged," said Mr Harutyunyan.

As what concerns Azerbaijan, according to him, the state ideology here is based on anti-Armenianism.

The aggressive atmosphere will deteriorate during the up-coming elections in both countries.

"The anti-Armenianism and aggressiveness have a chronic nature in both countries," he added.
