Turkish party leader 'had' his cup of tea at Armenia's National Security Service instead of Foreign Ministry

Accompanied by the National Security Service (NSS) of the Republic of Armenia, leader of Turkish Powerful Party Tuna Beklevic and his party members left Armenia after being interrogated at the NSS for claiming to have crossed the Armenia-Turkey border early this October.

According to Turkish news agency Anadolu, before leaving Armenia Mr Beklevic made a statement, noting that overall he was content with the way Armenia's NSS treated them.

"Despite Armenia's Foreign Ministry which considered it a luxury to offering a cup of tea to its neighbor, Armenia's National Security Service turned out to be more hospitable," said he, adding that they will do their best to contribute to the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border.

Before arriving in Armenia Beklevic and his party members had announced that they will ask Armenia's foreign ministry for a meeting over the re-opening of Armenian-Turkish border.

Tuna also said that his wife had also been "invited" to the NSS for interrogation.

In a press conference on Friday in Yerevan Mr Beklevic had confirmed the news about having crossed the border, and had even went so far as to mention the exact location they crossed the border.

"We crossed [the border] via a three-flight bridge located in the ruins of Ani," Beklevic had said, adding that their move was aimed at contributing to the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border.
