HAK appeals to Administrative Court

Opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) has submitted an appeal to Armenia's Administrative Court over the same court's refusal to start proceedings into a lawsuit submitted by the HAK and more than 100 Armenian citizens, HAK lawyer Vahe Hovsepyan told Tert.am.

With that suit the HAK required that the court recognize actions taken by Armenia's authorities (namely by law enforcement bodies) during the March 1-2, 2008 events as "illegitimate."

The court is expected to deliberate on this appeal at the end of this week or at the beginning of the next one.

The court had refused HAK's appeal, saying the HAK cannot file an appeal that requires recognizing the actions by law enforcement bodies as illegitimate because it has missed some court procedures and should have taken action in time.
