Armenian grand master to take part in top level chess tournament

The first round of Mikhail Tal Memorial Tournament kicks off in Moscow on Friday, November 5.

The competitions will bring together 10 grand masters.

The highest rating among them belongs to Armenian representative Levon Aronyan (2801), according to local Armenian sport website Armsport.am.

Aronyan's rivals in the tournament are Vladimir Kramnik (Russia 2791), Alexander Grischuk (2771), Shahriar Mammadyarov (Azerbaijan 2763), Sergey Karyakin (Russia 2760), Pavel Elianov (Ukraine 2742), Boris Gelfand (Israel, 2741), Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2741), Aleksey Shirov (Spain 2735) and Van Hao (China 2727).

The tournament will finish on November 14. The start time of the competitions is 4 p.m. Yerevan time.
