Healthcare and education sectors to see changes in personnel

Serious corruption risks have been observed in the sectores of healthcare and education recently, according to Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

"Both analytical materials and the activities of the Government's Control Service testify to that," he told today a Government session.

To that effect, he recommended the Minister of Education to submit within a 10-day period a clear-cut action plan aimed at preventing corruption in educational sector.

Mr Sargsyan particularly stressed the importance of reforming universities' human resource policy and issuing special recommendations for bridging the existing gaps.

Touching upon the serious complaints on the corruptive risks in the healthcare sector, Mr Sargsyan gave Health Minister Harutyun Kushkyan a 10-day period for submitting to him relevant proposals, which may include but not be limited to replacing the staff in healthcare institutions.

"If the situation doesn't change, more drastic measures will be taken," Tigran Sargsyan said.
