Turkish authorities refuse to take Dink's house under protection

The municipal authorities in the Turkish town of Malatya have refused to take measures for protecting and repairing the house of Hrant Dink, slain Editor-in-Chief of Turkish-Armenian daily Agos.

Malatya's Mayor Ahmed Cakir announced earlier that the repair expenses have to be covered by Dink's family as the municipality could resolve only technical problems.

The Turkish opposition's proposal was rejected by the ruling Justice and Development party.

Unknown individuals recently broke into Dink's house in Malatya, burgling the apartment and turning everything upside down.
