Abdullah Ocalan offered to hold Turkish premier's office?

Turkish authorities once offered leader of Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) Abdullah Ocalan to become the head of the country’s government, former Kurdish MP Mehmet Hatip Dicle said, reported by CNN Turk.

“In 1993, Turgut Ozal [former Turkish President] sent me to Ocalan with the following words: ‘Ask Ocalan to come. Should he be acceptable, he’ll become a government leader’,” Dicle announced in a Diyarbakir court.

Mehmet Hatip Dicle is one of the 151 Kurdish detainees and human rights defendants accused by Turkish authorities of “making attempts to endanger the state integrity,” “participating in organization of terrorism” and “assisting a terrorist organization.”
