Yerevan to host week of contemporary Italian films

A week of contemporary Italian film screenings will be organized in Yerevan on November 8-13, Head of the National Theatre Vardan Mkrtchyan told a press conference today.

“An Italian atmosphere will prevail in our theatre for 6 days running,” he said.

Before being screened with English subtitles, the films will be interpreted by experts.

Italian Ambassador to Armenia Bruno Scapini said in turn that the upcoming event is something new compared to previous Italian film
screenings in Armenia.

“The films selected for screening feature the present-day Italian society with its problems. I think these are problems characteristic of the modern world,” said he, adding film week as a window to the Italian culture.

“Italy has always been one of the most important film production centers,” he mentioned.

The start time of the films is 7:00 p.m. The whole package of tickets can be purchased from theatre’s ticket-box for 2000 drams.
