New political situation in US may create favorable conditions for Karabakh, says expert

The new political situation in US may create new opportunities to work more efficiently, especially when it comes to support provided to Nagorno Karabakh, Head of Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D) Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Giro Manoyan said in an interview with local Armenian business daily Capital.

"It is not only about Genocide. Of course it is a priority, but there are other essential issues too, such as the support provided to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. I think the recent new political setting will provide new opportunities to work more efficiently. It refers to the support provided to Nagorno Karabakh," said he.

According to Mr Manoian, the point is that the US State Department has not always allocated the whole money that has been defined by the Congress to be allocated for Karabakh. But given US President Barack Obama and the majority of the House of Representatives do not belong to the same party, according to him, these issues may be solved in another way.

"That is to say, I hope that the House of Representatives will not with the same easiness accept the explanations by the State Department," said Mr Manoian.
