NATO PA removes Karabakh resolution from agenda

The Resolution on the Settlement of the Karabakh conflict has been removed from the agenda of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly, Head of Armenian Delegation in NATO PA, Republican Party MP Karen Avagyan told Tert.am.

According to him, the Armenian and Azerbaijani parties submitted some letters and proposals to the Assembly. Besides, the Azerbaijani side sent a letter saying their country will not be able to take part in the activities within the NATO PA.

“But discussions over the resolution were not problematic because the Armenian side had submitted relevant proposals. Besides, we are always ready to support our positions in all tribunals,” Avagyan said, adding that it is not known for how long the discussion of the draft has been postponed and when it will be brought on the agenda again.

The Draft Resolution on the Settlement of Karabakh Conflict was submitted to NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly a couple of months ago upon the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.

Chairperson of Armenia’s National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan had in that relation applied to the NATO PA, expressing Armenian side’s disagreement to the document. Thereafter, the Armenian delegation in the Assembly prepared relevant proposals.
