Plane crashes in Pakistan, kills 22

A total of 22 people died when a privately-owned plane belonging to an oil company crashed in the Pakistani city of Karachi.

The plane crashed soon after it took off, RIA Novosti reports, citing Pakistani media.

The plane was carrying locals and foreigners, 19 company employees and three crew members, on board.

Other reports say that 18 passengers and two crew members were on board.

The airplane was heading toward an oilfield in Sindh province.

Preliminary results of investigation show an engine failure became the cause of a crash.
