There'll be no better chance for extraordinary elections: Levon Zurabyan

The rally to be organized by Armenian National Congress (HAK) on November 9 will be devoted to human rights issues in view of the upcoming EU seminar in Yerevan, according to HAK coordinator Levon Zurabyan.

"This regime is becoming more tightly pressed within a circle," Zurabyan told journalists on Friday.

As a proof to his statement, he indicated four reasons, namely, "Armenia's socio-economic situation, the Council of Europe's intensifying pressures on Armenia, the collapse of the criminal group supporting the current regime from USA and Russia and the international community's increasing pressures on Armenian authorities for the resolution of the Karabakh conflict."

"Analyzing the regime, we see that it is growing weaker and weaker. Serzh Sargsyan is alarmed over the blows he received within a month's period. But the alarm is expected to intensify further," Zurabyan said, adding that the current situation in the country is a good chance for extraordinary elections.

"There will be no better chance for extraordinary elections," said he.

HAK activist is convinced that the authorities will continue banning opposition's rallies. "But we'll never adjust our programs to their theatrical shows as we have never treated them seriously," said Mr Zurabyan.
