Dashaktsutyun to gain more votes during next elections, says MP

No political force in Armenia is successful enough to obtain more than 50% of votes during the next parliamentary elections, Hrayr Karapetyan, MP affiliated with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D) parliamentary faction, told a press conference today.

“In the course of time, people develop more and more responsible approach to elections. This is why, ideological parties like ARF-D are likely to obtain more votes in future,” he told journalists on Monday.

Highlighting the importance to social issues, he particularly noted: “During the upcoming elections, the political power proposing solutions to social problems will receive more support by the electorate. And ARF-D has something to do in that direction too.”
The government, according to him sometimes takes such steps that have nothing to do with liberalism.

“On the one hand, they encourage cheese export, but on the other hand prices on cheese go up. They had better refrain from such steps,” Mr Karapetyan stressed.
