Azerbaijan’s ruling party wins in parliamentary elections

Azerbaijan's ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan) won Sunday's parliamentary election, gaining 71 seats in the South Caucasus country's legislative assembly, RIA Novosti reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission returns.

Early in the morning on November 8, 92 per cent of the ballots in all 125 constituencies of the country had been counted.

In almost 70 constituencies, the ruling party has taken the lead.

The final election returns will be published at midday.
