UN conference to discuss situation in Armenia’s competitiveness

A delegation headed by the Chairman of the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) of the Republic of Armenia Artak Shaboyan will present a report on Armenia’s competitiveness at the UN 6th Conference on Protection of

Competitiveness issues to be held from November 8-12.

According to a release by SCPEC every five year the UN conference discusses the situation of the economic competitiveness of a given country. As a result international organizations further provide that country with serious support to improve the competitiveness situation.

UN had for that purpose sent experts to Armenia in advance. With some work done with SCPEC they have prepared a comprehensive report on how to improve the situation related to Armenia’s competitiveness.

The report will be presented to the relevant bodies protecting competition rights in the participant countries, as well as to representatives of international organizations.

Upon the publication and discussion of the report Armenia will receive support to further improve the situation related to competitiveness in the country.

Artak Shaboyan is expected to address the conference and elaborate on the path the SCOPEC has walked down, as well as the reforms it has achieved.
