Ombudsman's office refrains from commenting on Levon Ter-Petrosyan's remarks

Human Rights Defender's Office refrained from commenting on the criticism voiced by former Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan against Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan at a rally late on Tuesday.

"We generally refrain from commenting on the statements of individuals acting in the political domain. We carry out activities in different spheres and each of us is free to express his/her opinion," Tsovinar Khachatryan, Press Secretary at Ombudsman's office, told Tert.am.

Speaking about the human rights situation in Armenia at yesterday's meeting, Armenia's first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan also criticized the Ombudsman for supporting the authorities and advised him "consult a psychologist."
