Armenian president received delegation from Russian inter-parliamentary committee

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received Thursday Armenian-Russian Inter-parliamentary Committee’s delegation headed by committee co-chairs, hero of the Russian Federation and member of Federal Council Nikolay Ryzhkov, and member of Armenian parliament Aram Safaryan.

During the meeting, the Armenian leader emphasized the committee’s role in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between Armenia and Russia. He also expressed his gratitude to all individuals contributing to the enhancement of bilateral ties.

“Armenia appreciates its friends and is thankful to them,” Mr Sargsyan mentioned, particularly highlighting the role of Konstantin Zatulin, Head of Russian parliament’s committee on CIS affairs, who recently received Armenian president’s award for deepening cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation and strengthening and developing friendly ties between the two peoples.

Nikolay Ryzhkov introduced to Armenian president the outcomes of the committee’s work and the issues to be discussed during the upcoming session in Yerevan.

The president wished the committee success in its future endeavors.
