Armenia joins Assembly of European regions

Armenia's Vice Premier and Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan took part in the Assembly of European Regions (AER) annual conference which kicked off Thursday in Istanbul, the public relations department of RA Territorial Administration Ministry reports.

The conference passed a decision on Armenia's membership. Syunik and Tavush marzes (provinces) will represent the country in the Assembly.

The Assembly of European Regions brings together 33 countries, 270 regions and 16 international organizations, promoting cooperation and exchange of experience between regions of European states. The organization closely collaborates with European Union and its institutions.
